An amusing collection of Dakota-Sioux fables, often featuring the vain and mischievous imp, Iktomi. Fables such as these were told to Dakota-Sioux children for entertainment; but often, also, to teach through negative example, the importance of honor, modesty, manners, and other aspects of a noble Indian lifestyle.
Zitkala-Sa (Gertrude Bonnin) was a beautiful Dakota-Sioux Indian. She was a member of the Woman's National Foundation, League of American Pen-Women, and the Washington Salon. Through lectures and stories such as "American Indian Stories" and "Americanize The First American" she tried to make the public aware of Dakota-Sioux Indians, their culture and their plight. Right out of college with a degree in drama and a minor in voice performance, Nancy Lee worked as a disco DJ in Columbia, SC (after all, it was 1975). After briefly doing the "hustle," she landed her first radio job as an on-air personality. Nancy has been in radio, in almost every capacity, for 30 years. She has her own morning show of WDDV AM radio, and also does voice-over work for TV, radio, and corporations. She is now happily adding audiobooks to her repertoire.
